Study Skill - Task 3

Element of design:
Design element is equivalent to the design of the underlying symbol , trades design has different design elements.  Design elements are prepared for design means basic unit .
Design elements probably divided into six major categories.
Have Colour
SizeLineTextureTone and Shape. If used properly design elements, will create perfect works. People's creative design elements can not be separated. Each work of art, must contain design elements.
                                                                   Figure 1: Colour
Colour is an element of design with endless variety.
Colour is light reflected off objects. Color has three main characteristics: hue or its name (red, green, blue, etc.), value (how light or dark it is), and intensity (how bright or dull it is).

                                                                    Figure 2:Size
Size can give space, if can make closer objects appear larger and make distance objects appear smaller.
Size is the bigness or smallness of an area.
Size is simply the relationship of the area occupied by one shape to that of another..

                                                                    Figure 3: Line
Line can suggest rhythm.
Line is straight or curve soft or hard mixture.
Line can show movement.
The linear marks made with a pen or brush or the edge created when two shapes meet..

                                                               Figure 4: Texture
Texture is concerned with touched and how something feels.
Texture is the part of the surface that can felt or seen.
Texture is the surface quality of a shape - rough, smooth, soft hard glossy etc..

                                                                 Figure 5:Tone
Tone can give emotion to an image.
Tone is property of colour.
Tone is light and dark.

                                                                  Figure 6:Shape
Shape can suggest movement.
Shape can be bordered by a line.
Shape can be defined by colour and tone.
A shape is a self contained defined area of geometric (squares and circles), or organic (free formed shapes or natural shapes). A positive shape automatically creates a negative shape..

Principle of design:

The Principles are concepts used to organize or arrange the structural elements of design. Again, the way in which these principles are applied affects the expressive content, or the message of the work.

Figure 7:My understanding of the principles

and design
Balance: Balance between the two is the care of each other, rather than take away the effect of the other side.
Balance in design is similar to balance in physics. A large shape close to the center can be balanced by a small shape close to the edge. Balance provides stability and structure to a design. It’s the weight distributed in the design by the placement of your elements.

Repetition: Reuse an effect or image, sometimes a different feel, will make the picture more complete.
Repetition strengthens a design by tying together individual elements. It helps to create association and consistency. Repetition can create rhythm (a feeling of organized movement).

Proportion: Correct proportional relationship makes the screen looks more comfortable, and more standard.

Emphasis: Like this set of figures, mainly depicting an object, can make people understand what it is you want to reflect the focus.

Contrast: Give people a strong black and white contrast visual impact, such as China's Eight Diagrams.

Contrast is the juxtaposition of opposing elements (opposite colours on the colour wheel, or value light / dark, or direction - horizontal / vertical). Contrast allows us to emphasize or highlight key elements in your design.
Unity: Overall unity will make the picture more harmonious and complete, people looked uncomfortable.

Harmony: With a part of the whole string of good works, giving a feeling of harmony and comfort.

Study Skill - Task 5

Introduction

Since the Renaissance, artistic progress and resolves the issue one of important standards of art history writing, therefore, following the Renaissance and its painted Church frescoes, the Zenith, the Town Hall, aristocratic apartments and villas are excellent mock. 3D street painting can be seen as the logical developments in contemporary art and extended. So-called 3D painting, as the name suggests is the paintings displayed at the ground to strike a solid artistic effect or directly to ground as carriers for painting. 3D painting, "art specialization" concept further developed, it features a ground for media, using Planar perspective principle, to create a visually to the virtual stereo, so that visitors have a sense of immersive. Scene in stereoscopic 3D painting, delicate, crisp, often entrusts its artistic effects can be achieved.
Objective

First of all, what I studied painting and what is a 3D sculpture .
Second, I'm sure my ideas and I want to make work. My work is a combination of 3D painting and sculpture. Giving a sense of innovation.
Finally, access to information began my art.
Problem Statement

I have to let people know my work performance is what it means. Let people see my work will have a fresh feeling, rather than what others did. Let people know my inner thoughts, desire for freedom, eager to do what want to do, instead of being tied.
Idea

First, my creativity comes from everyday life. This concept is the creation of contrast between light and dark relationships using color, giving a three-dimensional visual impact. With the simplest materials, the completion of the most beautiful works, gives the subject is difficult to understand. Let people guess.
For this work, I only around a theme, that is freedom! Because freedom is the existence of life in this world the most basic conditions. So I value. This is a pair vicissitudes hands handcuffed. Impossible to solve. But his fists tightly. Shows that he is very eager to freedom, and do not give up. Simultaneously, give us power; tell us the normal life of the people, to cherish the powers. Also gave people courage to those who have lost freedom, I hope they never lose faith. Finally, is a warning: remind people never crime.

Results
I finished my creativity, work even though it looked a bit rough, but overall I was quite satisfied. This pair of hands tied up with ropes, embodies the concept of my thoughts, freedom! Lessons, the next time I will do better.

Conclusion
Combine sculpture and painting works also very effective, the effect of sculpture, painting assistance. This looks more three-dimensional than painting, sculpture and surpasses mere beauty.
This is my
first attempt, although the work is very rough, but it is theoretically possible, if give me enough time. I will do more sophisticated work.

Study Skill - Task 7

Abstract

We do installation art, installation art; we must first have an idea. Installation art, refers to artists in a particular spatial-temporal environment, have not been in human daily life consumption or consumption of material cultural entities, artistically effective selection, utilization, adaptation, combination, to deduce new display of individual or groups of rich spiritual and cultural meaning of artistic form. Briefly, installation art is "sites + materials + emotion" integrated exhibition art. We do installation art related to the environment, so it is necessary to collect information on environmental issues. Of the environmental problems are due to human activities effects to the surrounding environment resulting from environmental quality changes and the production, life and such changes on human health impacts. Transformation of human natural environment and in the process of creating a social environment, natural environment with its inherent natural laws change. Restriction of the social environment on the one hand the natural environment, with its inherent regularity of movement. Human-environment interaction and ongoing role, environmental issues.
Voice of the earth

1.0  Introduction

Our installation art of this time is doing about voice of the earth.

Global warming is a “natural phenomenon ". Burning of fossil minerals or arising from deforestation and the burning of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, due to the greenhouse gases from the Sun radiation of visible light have a high degree of permeability, and the Earth reflected long wave radiation is highly absorbent, strongly absorbs radiation in the infrared, What used to say the " greenhouse effect ", leading to global warming. The consequences of global warming would global precipitation redistribution, glacier and permafrost melting, and sea-level rise, caused serious harm to both the natural ecosystem balance, more threat to the human food supply and environment. Has been the spot for scientists concerned about global warming, on October 14, 2012, United Kingdom Meteorological Office says global warming has been stopped in 16, rose again hot. Global warming refers to the global temperatures rise. Last more than 100 years, global temperatures have experienced cold-warm-cold-warm two swings on the total look for rising trend. After the 80’s, a significant increase in global temperatures.

                                                                Figure1: Candle Art1

981-1990 0.48 ° c rises in global average temperature of more than 100 years ago. Lead to the main cause of global warming is human in nearly a century, large-scale use of fossil fuels (such as coal , and oil ), discharges large amounts of CO2 and other greenhouse gases. As these greenhouse gases come from solar radiation of visible light (3.8--7.6nm, a shorter wavelength) has a high degree of penetration, and the Earth reflected long wave radiation (infrared) with a highly absorbent, is often called “the greenhouse effect ", leading to global warming.

Why is people burning fossil minerals to produce energy or arising from deforestation and the burning of carbon dioxide into the Earth's atmosphere. Intergovernmental Panel on climate change based on climate model projections, by 2100, global temperatures are expected to rise about 1.4-5.8 degrees Celsius (2.5-10.4 Fahrenheit). According to this projection, global temperatures will occur in the last 10,000 years never had a great change, thus the global environment have a potentially significant impact. (From Wikipedia)

                                                                Figure2: Candle Art21.1  Objective

First of all, we are going to research about the environmental issue and installation art.

Second, identifying which environmental issue that is going to be choose. For our group, we are not to choosing a specific environmental issue, we are doing an installation that describes how important the earth is.

Third , applying the message about the environment through an installation art.

1.2  Problem Statement

People must protect the environment, because the environment is deteriorating, our work is the ice is melting, this process will make people find the need to protect the environment, do not let our planet in the future become an ocean.
1.3  Hypothesis

Initial expectation

We expect our installations will have a good effect. It would be very easy to see the problem. Our theme is global warming, so we use old photographs to reflect this theme, plain and simple. We believe that people will be very easy to understand. However, the draft prepared a lot out, it is difficult to get people at a glance Our installation art reflects what environmental issues. So we also need to improve..

Icelandic Government Panel on Climate Change recently released a report forecasting that the global warming impact of all Icelandic glaciers melting is accelerating, it may be all melted the next century.

Reported that on July 30 this year, the southwestern city of Thingvellir Iceland temperatures up to 27 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature reached Iceland. Iceland over the next 10 years, temperatures will continue to rise year by year, which is to accelerate the direct cause local melting of glaciers.

Researchers Paer Song: glaciers will melt into the sea, causing sea level rise of about 7 meters or so, which would have catastrophic consequences for the world

The Vatnajokull glacier in southeast Iceland is Europe's largest glacier, with a total area of 8000 square kilometers, the maximum thickness of 900 m. Currently, this glacier is growing at the speed of one meter per year continued ablation, and this rate is also likely to accelerate. Research estimates show that this glacier once all melted, enough to cover the 50 Icelandic meter of water.

In addition to accelerated melting of glaciers, warming also caused Iceland subtle changes occurred in biological populations. Reported that in the past some of the seabed in southern Iceland fish stocks have now migrated to the north sea. The report also expects the end of this century, there will be 80 kinds of birds first arrived in Iceland no longer biting cold, but not suitable for wheat and pumpkins before growing plants in Iceland where you can also be planted.

In my opinion, we should realize the disappeared islands ,biological and country,we should protect our environment, do not let more things disappear from this earth. (From Wikipedia)

2.0  Literature review
Albert Arnold "Al" Gore, Jr. (born March 31, 1948) is an American politician, advocate and philanthropist, who served as the 45th Vice President of the United States (1993–2001), under President Bill Clinton. He was the Democratic Party's nominee for President and lost the 2000 U.S. presidential election despite winning the popular vote. Gore is currently an author and environmental activist. He has founded a number of non-profit organizations, including the Alliance for Climate Protection, and has received a Nobel Peace Prize for his work in climate change activism.

                                                   Figure 8: Book Cover

Our Choice is a 2009 book written by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore. Originally titled The Path to Survival it follows An Inconvenient Truth: The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It, a companion book to the film An Inconvenient Truth. All profits of the book (printed on 100% recycled paper) go to the Alliance for Climate Protection, which Gore founded in 2006. Newsweek magazine published a feature on Gore and the new book on October 31, 2009, calling it "authoritative, exhaustive, reasoned, erudite, and logical, a textbooklike march through solar and wind power, geothermal energy, biofuels, carbon sequestration, nuclear energy, the potential of forests to soak up carbon dioxide, energy efficiency, and the regulatory tangle that impedes the development of a super-efficient, continent-wide system of transmission lines.

4.0  Results
We completed our installation art, the overall results were pretty good. I believe people see this work. Will be infected, you want to cherish and protect our planet. In today's global warming is getting worse, do an installation art to illustrate the importance of global warming harm, and I feel great!
5.0  Conclusions
Instructors agreed we have made this installation art. This works on the subject of global warming, different skin, reflecting the different ethnic origin. Today, global warming, ozone layer thinner, very scary solar radiation hazards, exposure to people every day, is the sun's harmful substance abuse. Cause a variety of skin diseases, people see at first glance would certainly feel very sick, coupled with our explanation, I believe everyone will be touched to know the seriousness of global warming, and thus to protect the environment.
